HOW DOES IT WORK?
Each client that comes to us to fly first of all undergoes a short briefing where they learn the basic principles of flying in a wind tunnel (basic body position and the signals that are used to communicate with the instructor while flying). Then they are lent the necessary equipment (suit, goggles, helmet) and then they can go and fly. At all times, clients are in the flight chamber with an instructor who helps them and teaches them how to control their body in the hurricane-force wind. Clients alternate in the tunnel after short turns.
The HiFly Madrid tunnel is equipped with a recording system which means you can get a USB with your video and/or photos of your flight as a souvenir of this incredible experience.
There is an area reserved for spectators around the flight chamber. So your friends and family can also watch you fly.
Anyone can fly, with the exception of:

Anytime! Your instructor can signal the operator for immediate interruption of the flight or for speed reduction.
HOW HIGH CAN I FLY IN THE WIND TUNNEL?
The skydiving simulator HiFly Madrid is 5,2 m wide and 12 m high. After the acquisition of certain skills you can fly all the way to the height of the 12 meters.
HOW CAN I CONTROL HEIGHT OF FLYING?
Our instructors will show you basic movements how to control the flight yourself. Soon you will learn how to change the height of your flight with your body movement.
DOES THE AIR FLOW IN THE SIMULATOR HAVE ALWAYS THE SAME SPEED?
Air speed depends on the weight of flyer and his/her body position. The average speed in the wind tunnel is around 180km/h. Operator controls the speed of air flow depending on the flyer, who is in the flight chamber. Air speed is lower for flyers with less weight and higher for those who are heavier. And it is lower for flying in the basic position and higher for positions as backfly, sitfly and head down. Professional flyers work in speeds up to 270 km/h.
HOW WILL I GET TO INTO THE AIR FLOW?
All flyers can get to the air flow through the door on bottom of the flight chamber and simply lean on to the air current. Our instructor will help you on entering the chamber. You will feel how the air flow sustains your body and you will be flying.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WHILE FLYING MY SHOES, WATCH, RING OR CAR KEYS FLY AWAY?
The objects which have flown away can be damaged or completely destroyed. In a worse case its parts will continue to fly in the air flow and hit you in a great speed when returning to the flight chamber. Also, it could damage the ventilators of the wind tunnel. Because of all that, if such a thing occures, your flight will be quit immediately. Please keep on mind that a wind tunnel is very expensive facility and do not bring any objects into the flight chamber except the suit, helmet, google and shoes with shoelaces well tied.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SKYDIVING AND FLYING IN THE WIND TUNNEL?
While flying in the tunnel, you don’t experience the sensation of falling, only flying. Also, you do not need to be strapped to the instructor and let him control all the movements. In the tunnel, the instructor guides you, helps you and makes sure everything is safe, but once you are able to fly on your own, you are let to do so.
HOW LONG CAN I FLY IN THE TUNNEL?
The flight in the tunnel requires considerable efforts. The whole body works and it means that the muscles get tired. Even two minutes of the flight are an unforgettable experience. For beginning we recommend packages of 3 – 6 minutes. In case of people without any training it is not reasonable to extend the whole time of flight to more than 20 minutes a day. The professional flyers often fly more than one hour a day.
HOW MUCH TIME DO INDIVIDUAL ENTRIES TAKE?
The time of flying is usually divided to 1 minute entries. However they can be shorter or longer, depending on the physical condition of the flyer and the type of the training.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO FLY IN THE TUNNEL WITH MORE THAN ONE PERSON AT THE SAME TIME?
Experienced flyers can fly together in groups of up to 8 people. The beginners can fly only together with their instructors until they learn how to control their movements in the air flow.
WHAT IF I GET OUT OF CONTROL?
Even experienced flyers are never alone in the tunnel. Our instructores are always either in the flight chamber or antechamber and they are trained especially for these situations so they will always be able to help you.
